Thiruvananthapuram: Police have taken into custody a Malayali driver who transported Rahul Mamkootathil to Bengaluru. The driver, who is employed in Bengaluru, is currently being interrogated to gather further information regarding Mamkootathil’s travel details. This apprehension is a direct consequence of the ongoing investigation into the case.
Reports suggest that Rahul Mamkootathil has been frequently changing vehicles and is receiving assistance from individuals in the area. Current intelligence indicates that the driver’s role was limited to transporting Mamkootathil to a specified location.
Today marks the eighth day since Rahul Mamkootathil went into hiding. The investigating team has identified Sulya as Mamkootathil’s last known location while he has been absconding. In response, police have significantly intensified their search operations along the Karnataka-Kerala border. The investigation team harbors suspicions that sensitive information is being leaked from within the police force. Consequently, high-level directives have been issued to maintain extreme confidentiality regarding the movements of the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
