Weekly Special Train Announced on Mangaluru-Thiruvananthapuram Route

The Indian Railways has announced a new weekly special train service operating between Mangaluru Junction and Thiruvananthapuram North. This special service is scheduled to run from December 7, 2025, to January 19, 2026, aiming to accommodate increased passenger traffic during the festive season.

The Mangaluru Junction–Thiruvananthapuram North (Train No. 06041) weekly special will commence its services on Sunday, December 7, and continue until January 18, 2026. This train is scheduled to depart from Mangaluru Junction at 6:00 PM and will arrive at Thiruvananthapuram North at 6:30 AM the following day.

For the return journey, the Thiruvananthapuram North–Mangaluru Junction (Train No. 06042) weekly special will operate on Mondays, starting from December 8, 2025, until January 19, 2026. This service will depart from Thiruvananthapuram North at 8:30 AM and is expected to reach Mangaluru Junction by 8:30 PM on the same day.

The special train will comprise a diverse set of coaches to cater to various passenger needs, including one AC two-tier coach, three AC three-tier coaches, 15 sleeper coaches, and two coaches specifically designed for persons with disabilities.

Along its route, the train will make stops at several key stations across Kerala, providing connectivity to various towns and cities. These stops include Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Kayamkulam, and Kollam. This extensive network of stops is expected to benefit a large number of commuters and travelers during the operational period.
