Haripad: Two young men riding a motorcycle died after their bike collided with a KSRTC Superfast bus on the national highway in Haripad. The deceased have been identified as P. Gokul (25), son of Pradeep Kumar and Girija of Thamallakkal, Haripad, and S. Sreenath (25), son of Sreekumar and Thulasi of Sreenilayam. The bus involved in the accident was traveling towards Thiruvananthapuram.
The accident occurred around 11 PM yesterday, north of the Haripad KSRTC bus stand. The motorcycle the two men were riding crashed into the underside of the bus. One person died on the spot, while the other succumbed to his injuries at Haripad Taluk Hospital. Police stated that the impact caused the youths to hit their heads on the road. Eyewitnesses reported that the bus was overspeeding. The bodies of both victims are currently in the government hospital mortuary.
