Audio in Sexual Harassment Complaint Confirmed to be Rahul Mamkootathil’s

Thiruvananthapuram: A preliminary examination report has confirmed that the voice in the audio recording submitted by the woman who lodged a sexual harassment complaint against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil belongs to the MLA himself. The report found no evidence of tampering in the audio, completely ruling out the possibilities of dubbing or the use of Artificial Intelligence technology. For the voice analysis, Rahul Mamkootathil’s voice samples were collected from the public domain. The voice testing was conducted at Chitranjali Studio.
Meanwhile, Rahul Mamkootathil, who has been absconding, has not yet been traced. Information suggests that Rahul went into hiding in a highly sophisticated manner. There are indications that CCTV footage from his flat has been deleted. It is also believed that the MLA deliberately avoided roads with CCTV cameras during his travel. Although the Special Branch conducted a CCTV investigation, it is reported that only the car moved through various routes in a manner that confused the police. The police plan to continue their CCTV-focused investigation today.
Efforts are also underway to retrieve CCTV footage from the locations where both the woman and Rahul were present. The police intend to strongly oppose his anticipatory bail application when it comes up for consideration on Wednesday. Rahul has also submitted some evidence to the court against the complainant.
In a related development, Rahul Easwar, arrested in connection with a complaint of cyber-harassment against the survivor, will be produced before a magistrate today. The Thiruvananthapuram Cyber Police registered Rahul Easwar’s arrest after a detailed interrogation at the Thiruvananthapuram AR Camp. A non-bailable section under BNS has also been invoked against Rahul Easwar for making sexually suggestive and derogatory remarks against a woman. After completing his medical examination overnight, Rahul Easwar was kept at the Cyber Police Station.
Furthermore, a special investigation team is preparing to question KPCC General Secretary Sandeep Warrier in the case of insulting the survivor. Sandeep Warrier is the fourth accused in this case. The special investigation team is preparing to question Sandeep Warrier in connection with the case of circulating the complainant’s pictures. It is understood that the SIT will issue a directive to Sandeep Warrier to appear for questioning. The investigation team currently in Palakkad will conduct the interrogation.
