Kannur, November 25: P.P. Divya, the former Kannur District Panchayat President and a prominent CPM leader, has launched a scathing attack on actresses Seema G. Nair and Anusree for their public support of Rahul Mankootathil, who is facing sexual assault allegations. Divya asserted that such endorsements contribute to the proliferation of individuals she termed “Govindachamis,” a reference to perpetrators of heinous sexual crimes. Her strong remarks were made via a Facebook post, which also included photographs of the two actresses.
In her detailed social media statement, Divya directly addressed the unnamed victim, urging her to come forward fearlessly with a complaint. She assured the victim of widespread public support from across Kerala and stressed the backing of the government. Divya’s post highlighted the severe consequences of failing to address such issues, warning that without intervention, “Congress offices in Kerala will produce sexually perverted psychopaths like Rahul Mankootathil,” who would then “sit proudly in the Legislative Assembly.”
Divya’s post, translated from Malayalam, stated: “‘Women to be remembered today…’ The support, embrace, and encouragement of certain individuals like these contribute to the creation of ‘Govindachamis’. Rahul Mankootathil is a ‘Govindachami’ living outside prison… This message is for a girl whose life has been thrown into crisis and disarray… Sister, you must courageously file a complaint. The people of Kerala will stand with you… Otherwise, Congress offices in Kerala will produce sexually perverted psychopaths like Rahul Mankootathil. They will sit proudly in the Legislative Assembly… Seema G. Nair and Anusree will provide protection. To the victim… come forward bravely… People (from all political parties) who recognize their mothers, sisters, and wives will be with you… and so will this government.”
