Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama’s 100th Anniversary Begins with Scholarly Conference in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: The Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, the state’s first assembly of scholars, commenced its 100th-anniversary celebrations with a national scholarly conference in Kozhikode. The centenary events will conclude on Sunday evening with a public gathering at the beach.
The scholarly conference was organized specifically for selected scholars from Kerala. Its primary aim was to intellectually equip scholars to address the growing trend of misinterpreting religious texts. The conference highlighted the necessity for scholars to boldly articulate the true tenets of Islam in society, especially when anti-Islamic narratives mock and distort religious principles.
Professor Madhar Ali Al Madani of Jamia Islamia Banaras inaugurated the national scholarly conference.
He urged the scholarly community to strengthen their knowledge to confront new challenges in this rapidly evolving modern era. Professor Al Madani emphasized that in a pluralistic society, one should never deny others their freedom of worship or right to live. He added that while believing in the truth of one’s own faith, propagation activities in a diverse society should always be conducted with the awareness that others also possess the right to their beliefs.
Scholars must strive to maintain peace and tranquility in society, he asserted, cautioning against any words or actions from religious leaders that could sow discord. He called upon scholars to bravely teach the truth they understand to society without any distortion, noting that those who misinterpret religion out of ignorance do so due to a shallow understanding of its depths.
The conference was presided over by Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama President P.P. Mohammed Madani. K.N.M. State President T.P. Abdullakoya Madani delivered the introductory speech. Other speakers included K.J.U. Secretary Haneef Kayakkodi, Easa Madani, K.M. Faizy, Abdul Aziz Madani, Naseeruddeen Rahmani, M. Muhyiddeen Nadvi, Dr. A.I. Abdul Majeed Salahi, N.V.
