Congress Announces First List of 48 Candidates for Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Elections

The Congress party has announced its initial list of 48 candidates for the upcoming Thiruvananthapuram Corporation elections, even before the official declaration of the local body polls. This first phase includes prominent figures such as former MLA K.S. Sabarinathan.

He stated that campaign rallies would commence on Monday, with an ambitious target of increasing the UDF’s seat count from the current ten to 51. Echoing this sentiment, DCC President N. Sakthan affirmed that the party is approaching the elections with strong hopes of forming the ruling council. Sakthan also informed that the vehicle-based campaign rallies are scheduled to continue until November 12.

Among the notable candidates, K.S. Sabarinathan will contest from the Kavadiar ward. Vaishnav Suresh, a law student and the KSU District Vice President, is slated to contest from Muttada ward. Neethu Raghuvaran, the State General Secretary of the Youth Congress, will be a candidate from Pangappara, while ASHA worker S.B. Raji will contest from Kachani ward.

Further reinforcing the list, Youth Congress State General Secretary Neethu Vijayan is contesting from Vazhuthacaud ward. Additionally, S. Shirley, the daughter-in-law of former MP A. Charles, will stand from Payam ward. These candidates have been finalized at the ward level.
