Suresh Gopi Slams Opponents on Vote Controversy, Vows Resignation Over AIIMS Remark

Thodupuzha: Actor and Union Minister Suresh Gopi has responded to the Thrissur vote controversy, accusing his critics of having won elections by “making the dead vote.” Gopi made these strong remarks during a Kalungu Samvad programme held near the Ganapathi Temple in Moolamattom, Idukki.
“Those who are criticizing me are the ones who got votes from the dead,” Suresh Gopi asserted. “People who died 25 years ago were also made to vote. They blamed me for disrupting Pooram, for disrupting Gopi Ashan, for disrupting RLV, and finally, even said I disrupted the voting,” he added, referring to the allegations made against him during the Thrissur campaign.
Suresh Gopi reiterated his commitment to the promises he made during the Thrissur campaign, stating that he only takes on tasks he can accomplish and ensures he completes them.
Addressing the AIIMS issue, Suresh Gopi clarified his stance. “My position since 2015 has been for AIIMS to be established in Alappuzha, and I cannot change that,” he stated. He added that if Alappuzha is not chosen, then Thrissur should be the preferred location. He emphatically denied claims that he ever stated AIIMS would be taken to Tamil Nadu, challenging anyone to prove otherwise. “If it is proven that I said AIIMS would be taken to Tamil Nadu, I will resign,” he declared.
