Man Injured in Hotel Brawl Over Chicken Fry Order in Ettumanoor, Kottayam

KOTTAYAM: A dispute over a chicken fry order escalated into a brawl at a hotel in Ettumanoor, resulting in injuries to a customer. The incident, which occurred on Saturday night around 9:30 PM at a hotel in Ettumanoor town, left Nidhin (34), a resident of Thiruvanchur and an employee at the Ettumanoor Industrial Estate, hospitalized.

According to Nidhin, he had ordered porotta and chicken fry, specifically requesting a chest piece. However, the hotel employee, who was an inter-state worker, served him a wing piece instead.

When Nidhin asked for the order to be corrected, the employee reportedly told him to eat it if he wanted to. Nidhin states that when he questioned the employee’s manner of speaking, he was assaulted.

Nidhin sustained an injury to his forehead. He further claims that the employee fled the scene after the altercation. Ettumanoor police have stated that they have not yet received a formal complaint regarding the incident, but assured that action would be taken once a complaint is filed.
