Decomposed Body Found Chained to Rubber Tree in Kollam

Kollam: A decomposed body was discovered chained to a rubber tree within a rubber plantation in Kollam. The grim find was made in a steep rubber estate located near the Mukkadavu Bridge on the Punalur-Muvattupuzha route. Investigators reported that one leg and one hand of the deceased were secured around the tree with a chain and a padlock.

The upper part of the body, up to the neck, appeared to be burnt. An empty bag, a jerrycan, and a bottle were found in close proximity to the site. The discovery was made around 8:30 AM by a resident of Tamil Nadu who was in the area to pluck bird’s eye chilies.

Punalur police were immediately alerted and promptly arrived at the scene to commence their investigation. The inquiry is currently being led by the Kottarakkada DySP. A dog squad and a fingerprint team were also deployed to assist with the ongoing inspections.

Preliminary conclusions suggest that the incident is a shocking murder. Authorities have indicated that no missing person reports from the area have been filed to date.
