In a startling incident on Saturday night in Guruvayur, parents, in their haste to secure movie tickets, accidentally left their seven-year-old child behind at a theatre. The parents reportedly did not realize their child was missing until the intermission of the film they were watching at a second theatre.
The family, part of a group that had traveled from Chavakkad in a van to watch a movie, initially arrived at Devaki Theatre for the second show. After finding no tickets available there, they swiftly moved to Appas Theatre, located on the western side. In the rush to get to the next screening, they overlooked checking if the child was with them in the vehicle.
The child, realizing she was separated from her companions, began to cry in front of Devaki Theatre. Alert theatre staff noticed her distress and inquired about her situation, learning that her group had left without her. The child informed the staff that she had arrived with others in a traveller van. The Devaki Theatre staff promptly contacted Appas Theatre to relay the information, as the intermission was approaching.
Subsequently, the movie at Appas Theatre was paused, and an announcement was made, urging those who had arrived in a traveller van to contact the staff as a child from their group had been separated and was at another theatre. Upon hearing the announcement, the child’s companions rushed back to Devaki Theatre. By then, the theatre staff had already handed the child over to the local police. The parents were eventually reunited with their child at the police station.
