Love Fulfilled at Guruvayoor Temple: Sujith, Victim of Police Brutality, Weds Thrishna

Thrissur: Sujith, a Youth Congress leader who was brutally beaten at Kunnamkulam police station, has married Thrishna. The couple, both residents of Kunnamkulam, tied the knot at Guruvayoor Temple after a five-year courtship. The ceremony was attended by relatives, friends, former Thrissur MP T.N. Prathapan, and Thrissur DCC President Joseph Tajett, among other leaders.
KPCC President Sunny Joseph extended his heartfelt congratulations to Sujith, the Youth Congress Chowwannur Mandalam President, and Thrishna as they embarked on their married life. “Today is a day of joy, the day Sujith and Thrishna united,” read a message shared by Varghese Chowwannur and numerous Congress activists, who also posted photographs of the bride and groom.
Previously, AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal had visited Sujith at his home and presented him with a gold ring. Thrissur DCC President Joseph Tajett also gifted Sujith a gold chain, taking it off his own neck to bestow upon him.
Meanwhile, Sujith reiterated his demand for the dismissal of the four police officers involved in his brutal custodial torture, stating that their mere suspension was unacceptable. Sujith also revealed that Suhail, the officer who drove the police jeep on the day of the incident, had also assaulted him, yet no case has been registered against Suhail. He further mentioned that the officers attempted to offer him money, but he rejected it, stating he would pursue legal action. Suhail is currently employed in the Revenue Department. Sujith insists that all five individuals involved in his assault must face appropriate action.
Currently, disciplinary action has been initiated against Sub-Inspector Nuhman and Civil Police Officers Sasindran, Sandeep, and Sajeevan. However, there are strong allegations that only minor charges, carrying a maximum sentence of one year imprisonment, have been leveled against them, despite the existence of video evidence of the assault. The CCTV footage depicting Sujith’s brutal beating only came to light after a two-year legal battle.
