
Shibu Soren, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and the revered founding leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), has passed away at the age of 81. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Sri Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi.
Soren had been battling a prolonged illness. He was admitted to Sri Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi towards the end of June due to kidney-related ailments.
The news of his father’s demise was announced by his son, Hemant Soren, who took to the ‘X’ platform to share the heartbreaking news. “Our respected Guru has left us. Today, I feel empty,” Hemant wrote, expressing his profound grief. Shibu Soren, as the founding patron of the JMM party, had led the party for the past 38 years, shaping its journey and political landscape.
His passing marks the end of an era for Jharkhand politics, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated public service and leadership.
