Three Migrant Workers Dead as Two-Storey Building Collapses in Kodakkara Amidst Heavy Rain

Three migrant workers have died after a two-storey building collapsed in Kodakkara, Thrissur, amidst heavy rainfall. The deceased have been identified as Rupel, Rahul, and Ali, all natives of West Bengal.
The incident occurred around 6 AM today. The front part of the old house collapsed, trapping the three West Bengal natives who were inside the building at the time. Upon receiving information, the Fire Force and Police arrived at the scene and, after removing debris, initially pulled out two individuals. Rupel and Rahul, who were found injured, were immediately rushed to the nearby Shanti Hospital, but their lives could not be saved. Ali was found during the ongoing search and was also rushed to the hospital, but he too succumbed to his injuries. The bodies of all three have been moved to Thrissur Medical College.
The victims were trapped under a collapsed concrete beam. A total of 17 people were residing in the building. The three individuals met with the accident while preparing to go to work in the morning. The roof of the old building was tiled, but its front portion was constructed with concrete, which collapsed.
