Couple Found Dead in Thiruvananthapuram Home; Police Suspect Murder-Suicide Driven by Financial Distress

Thiruvananthapuram: A couple was found dead in their home in Karamana, Thiruvananthapuram, in a suspected case of murder-suicide. The deceased have been identified as Satheesh and his wife Bindu. Police’s preliminary conclusion suggests that Bindu first slit her husband’s throat and then died by suicide by hanging.
The couple was discovered dead in their residence this morning. Satheesh was a contractor who undertook public works for both the Devaswom Board and the Corporation. Police assess that financial burden is the primary reason behind their tragic deaths.
Family members of the deceased state that the couple had a staggering debt of ₹2.30 crore. Satheesh’s brother expressed his belief that they resorted to this extreme step as they found themselves in an unbearable financial situation. Loans taken over time had reportedly escalated into a massive liability. There are also reports that their house was in the process of being seized by the bank.
