Abduction Attempt Thwarted in Kozhikode, Two Arrested

Kozhikode: A daylight abduction attempt of a child in Kozhikode’s Puthiyakadavu area has been foiled, leading to the arrest of a man and a woman, both Karnataka natives. The seven-year-old boy, son of Shajir and Anusha from Beypore, was the target of the attempt.

The incident occurred while the boy was playing. The culprits allegedly tried to force the child into a sack to abduct him. Other children playing nearby immediately alerted locals, who then intervened, detained the suspects, and handed them over to the police.

The attempted abduction took place around noon today (Thursday) in Puthiyakadavu, on a roadside frequented by vehicles. CCTV footage has emerged showing the nomadic woman walking away with the sack after the attempted abduction, with the children running after her. The child reportedly stated that a woman tried to put him into a sack. The police are currently questioning the man and woman in custody.
