CM Pinarayi Vijayan Announces Aid for Fishermen Affected by Kochi Ship Accident

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today acknowledged that the recent sinking of a cargo ship in the Arabian Sea near Kochi has significantly impacted local fishermen. During a press conference, the Chief Minister announced that each affected fishing family would receive ₹1,000 in financial aid and six kilograms of free ration rice to help them through the crisis.
While the ship accident has caused considerable concern, the Chief Minister reassured the public that there is no need to worry about consuming seafood. He advised fishermen to avoid fishing within a 20-nautical-mile radius of the accident site.
Chief Minister Vijayan also urged fishermen not to collect any floating objects from the sea. He stressed the importance of listening only to expert opinions and avoiding speculation regarding the incident.
