Makarajyoti Appears on Ponnambalamedu: Devotees Witness the Divine Light

The much-awaited Makarajyoti appeared at Ponnambalamedu, filling the hearts of lakhs of Ayyappa devotees with bliss. With folded hands and chants of “Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa,” tens of thousands of devotees witnessed the celestial light. The first sighting of Makarajyoti occurred at 6:43 PM, followed by two more appearances shortly thereafter.

Devotees who waited in unwavering devotion, chanting fervently, now descend the hill with a deep sense of fulfillment. Ahead of the sacred Makaravilakku, the Sabarimala temple premises and viewing points were already teeming with pilgrims.

The Thiruvabharanam (sacred ornaments) for Lord Ayyappa, brought in a grand procession from Pampa, was ceremoniously received at Sharamkuthy by the Devaswom Board Executive Officer and carried to the sanctum atop a caparisoned elephant. The Deeparadhana (evening ritual) began at 6:30 PM, after adorning Lord Ayyappa with the Thiruvabharanam. Soon after, the divine Makarajyoti lit up Ponnambalamedu, followed by resonating chants of devotion filling the temple premises.
