Woman Dies After Being Hit by Falling Brick Near Kochi
Kochi: A woman who was severely injured after a brick fell on her head while she was waiting for a bus has passed away. The deceased has been identified as Arya Shyammohan (34), a native of Vadakkekkara, Ernakulam. The accident occurred near a building under construction in Munambam.
The incident took place yesterday evening at Munambam Mani Bazaar. Arya was waiting for a bus with her six-year-old daughter, Shivatmika, when a cement brick fell from the top of a three-story building under construction nearby and struck her head. It’s believed that the brick was used to secure a plastic sheet covering the construction area, and it fell due to wind and rain.
Arya sustained critical head injuries and was admitted to the hospital. She succumbed to her injuries this morning while undergoing treatment. Shivatmika, who sustained minor injuries, received preliminary treatment at a private hospital in Kuzhuppilly and was discharged.
