Rajeev Chandrasekhar Files Rs 100 Crore Defamation Suit Against Reporter TV for Fake News

BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar has filed a Rs 100 crore defamation suit against Reporter TV and eight individuals for allegedly spreading fake news against him. The legal action comes in response to reports that purportedly misused his name and linked him to a land deal involving a company named BPL, with which he claims to have no association.

The defamation case targets Reporter TV, along with its Managing Editor Anto Augustine, Consulting Editor Arun Kumar, Coordinating Editor Smriti Paruthikkad, News Coordinator Jimmy James, Coordinating Editor Sujaya Parvathy, Thiruvananthapuram Bureau Chief T.V. Prasad, and Chief Reporters Rahees Rasheed and Roshi Pal.

The suit, filed through Mumbai-based law firm RHP Partners, specifically accuses the media outlet and its personnel of continuously broadcasting false information. The notice served to the defendants demands a retraction of the alleged fake news and a public apology within seven days.
