Dr. Muhammad Sattar Rasool Emphasizes Global Educational Changes Through Technology at Edavanna Seminar

Edavanna: Professor Dr. Muhammad Sattar Rasool of the National University of Malaysia emphasized the need for the academic community to embrace global changes in higher education through technology. He made this statement while inaugurating a two-day international education seminar organized in Edavanna by Jamia Nadwiyya, in collaboration with Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi; the University of the Free State, South Africa; and the Kerala State Higher Education Council.

Dr. Rasool highlighted the importance of staying informed about research being conducted in leading universities worldwide, leveraging the constant advancements in information technology and the immense possibilities of artificial intelligence. He stressed that societies that fail to adapt to change cannot survive. Deep research, he noted, is the backbone of higher education, and continuous encouragement for the new generation to engage in research is crucial. He further urged the academic community to acquire the knowledge and experience necessary to address global challenges in education.

The world, he explained, is seeking diverse education, not merely knowledge in a single subject. He advocated for transcending boundaries to gain comprehensive knowledge and experience. Traditional educational styles must be innovated using new technology. The new generation desires not just degrees, but experiential knowledge and skill development to face contemporary challenges. He called upon the academic community to integrate global educational trends with new developments in the Indian education sector and implement them practically.

Dr. Rasool also suggested utilizing the warm relations between India and Malaysia to share experiences in higher education and to foster closer ties between institutions. He asserted that international exposure is vital for the new generation, enabling them to dream beyond borders and empowering them to realize those dreams. This, he concluded, is a mission the academic community must undertake.
