Kerala Weather Update: Thunderstorm Activity to Persist; Alerts Issued

The Meteorological Department has announced a change in the weather warning for Kerala, indicating that light rain accompanied by thunderstorms will continue across the state. While no specific heavy rain warnings have been issued for any particular district in the five-day forecast, the department stated that there is a possibility of light rain in all 14 districts.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that isolated places in Kerala are likely to experience rain with thunderstorms from today, September 11, 2025, until September 13, 2025. Thunderstorms are inherently dangerous, posing significant threats to human and animal lives, as well as to power and communication networks, and household appliances connected to electrical systems. The public is strongly advised to take necessary precautions from the moment dark clouds are observed. It is crucial not to disregard these warnings, as lightning may not always be visible.
Furthermore, the IMD has also predicted the possibility of light rain in isolated areas of Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts over the next three hours. Isolated places in Idukki district are expected to receive moderate rainfall during the same period.
