Kerala Sees Surge in COVID-19 Cases, Active Caseload Crosses 1,000 Mark

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is witnessing a significant increase in COVID-19 cases, with the active caseload now exceeding 1,000. Currently, 1,147 people are undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the state. In the past four days alone, 717 new active cases have been reported.
Over the last 24 hours, 227 new infections were confirmed in Kerala. This marks a substantial contribution to the national figures, as India collectively reported 511 new cases in the same 24-hour period. Across the country, 2,710 individuals are currently receiving treatment for COVID-19.
Three new COVID-19 related deaths were also reported nationwide. On Monday, 430 cases were reported across India.
In Kerala, 72 people recovered from the illness in the last 24 hours. While new district-level statistics for the state have not yet been released, preliminary information indicates that Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, and Pathanamthitta districts have the highest number of COVID-19 cases. Other states in India are also experiencing an increase in patient numbers.
