Kerala Rain Alert: Change in Warning; Yellow Alert Declared in Various Districts

Thiruvananthapuram: A change has been announced in the rain warning for Kerala. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared a Yellow Alert in various districts across the state. Today, eight districts are under a Yellow Alert. These include Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kannur, and Kasaragod.

The Central Meteorological Department’s forecast indicates the possibility of rain for the next five days, with Yellow Alerts declared for several districts.

On September 17, 2025, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts are under a Yellow Alert.

For September 18, 2025, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Thrissur districts have been issued a Yellow Alert.

Isolated heavy rainfall is predicted. Heavy rain is defined as precipitation ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm within a 24-hour period.
