Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan: India Deserves Credit for Kerala’s Eradication of Extreme Poverty

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the credit for Kerala becoming a state free of extreme poverty should go to India before the world. He emphasized that while the Vizhinjam port is situated in Kerala, it is recognized as a national port of India.

Responding to a comment by BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who attributed Kerala’s achievement of extreme poverty eradication to Central government schemes, the Chief Minister remarked, “Should only our state prosper? Let all states thrive.”

He further added that any assistance towards poverty eradication is beneficial and there is no reason to reject such help. Rajeev Chandrasekhar had previously asserted that the BJP government has lifted more people out of extreme poverty in other states compared to Kerala.
