Alappuzha: A young woman died in Ambalappuzha after her bike collided with a KSRTC bus. The deceased has been identified as Marina (24) from Kanjirachira, Kunthirickal, Edathua. The accident occurred while she was returning home from her workplace in Kochi to celebrate her first wedding anniversary. The incident took place around 8 PM on Wednesday near the Kolamangalam Beverages outlet on the Ambalappuzha-Thiruvalla state highway.
Marina was working as a nurse at Amrita Anandamayi Hospital in Ernakulam. Her husband, Shano, had arrived at Ambalappuzha Railway Station to pick her up after she traveled from Kochi by train. The couple was returning home on their bike when they collided with the KSRTC bus.
Due to the impact, Marina was thrown onto the road, and the bus ran over her. She died on the spot. Her husband, Shano, who sustained serious injuries, was immediately admitted to Vandanam Medical College Hospital. Edathua Police have initiated further proceedings regarding the incident.
