‘Why the Sasthamangalam room when the government provided a free room?’ Sabarinathan asks Prashanth

Congress leader K.S. Sabarinathan has publicly questioned MLA V.K. Prashanth’s choice to operate from a room in Sasthamangalam, asking why he requires this space when two well-equipped office rooms have been allocated to him free of charge at the MLA Hostel.
Sabarinathan highlighted that the MLA Hostel, which falls within V.K. Prashanth’s own Vattiyoorkavu constituency, offers excellent facilities including comfortable rooms, computer setups, and dedicated car parking. He noted that two prime office rooms, numbered 31 and 32 in the Nilavil block of the MLA Hostel, are officially allotted to Prashanth. Given these readily available and free government-provided amenities in a central location, Sabarinathan queried Prashanth’s decision to forego them in favor of the Sasthamangalam premises.
The Congress leader further stated that the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation would review the agreement between the Corporation and V.K. Prashanth regarding the operation of the MLA’s office in the Sasthamangalam ward’s municipal office. The Corporation is expected to decide on matters such as rental fees following this review. Sabarinathan also emphasized the importance of the Municipal Corporation providing basic working facilities for all its councilors.
In a detailed Facebook post, Sabarinathan explained that while most MLAs in Kerala operate their offices from rented buildings in their constituencies – a practice he followed during his tenure as a representative in Aryanad – V.K. Prashanth has the unique advantage of having the Legislative Assembly’s MLA Hostel located within his Vattiyoorkavu constituency. He urged Prashanth to consider relocating to the MLA Hostel, especially with the current assembly’s term still ongoing, as it would be a more prudent use of the facilities provided by the government.
