Why is the CM silent? PV Anvar questions delay in assembly election polling data disclosure

Trinamool Congress leader PV Anvar has questioned the silence of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan regarding the delay in the release of official polling data following the recent assembly elections.
Opposition leader V.D. Satheesan had earlier submitted a formal request to the Election Commission of India, urging the disclosure of crucial election data, including voter turnout percentages. Three days have passed since the conclusion of the polls, yet comprehensive information, including postal ballot statistics, remains unavailable on the Election Commission’s official website.
Criticizing the lack of transparency, PV Anvar expressed surprise at the delay, noting that in past elections, such data was typically made public the day after polling, even without the advanced technological facilities currently available.
“Why is the Chief Minister silent on this matter? Does the LDF not have a commitment to ensure the election is democratic and transparent?” Anvar asked in a social media post. He further argued that the responsibility to demand this information rested with the Chief Minister and his office even more than the opposition leader.
Anvar asserted that the absence of a response or a formal complaint from the Chief Minister or the party secretary on this issue supports his earlier allegations and raises questions about the government’s stance on electoral transparency.
As a public figure, Anvar confirmed that he has sent an email to the Election Commission of India, urging the statutory body to uphold its dignity and ensure complete transparency in the electoral process.
