
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar today offered prayers at the revered Guruvayoor Sree Krishna Temple. He arrived for the temple visit after landing at the Sreekrishna College helipad. The Vice President, accompanied by his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, was received by public representatives and senior officials.
The Vice President landed at the Sreekrishna College ground via an Indian Air Force helicopter around 12:45 PM. He then traveled by road, arriving at the Sreevatsam guest house near the South Nada (southern entrance) of the temple around 1:00 PM.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar were formally welcomed by N.K. Akbar MLA, Devaswom Chairman Dr. V.K. Vijayan, Guruvayoor Municipality Chairman M. Krishnadas, Devaswom Governing Body members C. Manoj and Manoj B. Nair, and Administrator O.B. Arun Kumar. N.K. Akbar MLA and Devaswom Chairman Dr. V.K. Vijayan draped the Vice President with a traditional ‘Ponnada’ (shawl of honor).
After a brief rest, the Vice President proceeded through the South Nada for his temple darshan. The temple Tantri (chief priest) and Devaswom Governing Body member Brahmasree P.C. Dineshan Namboothiripad welcomed the Vice President with a ‘Poornakumbham’ (a traditional ritual welcome). Brahmasree Mallissery Parameswaran Namboothiripad, the temple Uralan (hereditary trustee) and Devaswom Governing Body member, was also present to receive the Vice President. Upon returning to Sreevatsam after completing his darshan, the Vice President was presented with a mural painting by Devaswom Chairman Dr. V.K. Vijayan as a memento.
Although the visit was initially planned for 9:00 AM, the darshan time had to be rescheduled due to heavy rain and adverse weather conditions.
The Vice President concluded his darshan at Guruvayoor Temple by 1:48 PM, having commenced it around 1:35 PM. He then departed from the Sreekrishna College helipad at approximately 2:15 PM. Earlier in the day, he could not land at the helipad due to poor weather, after which he attended an event in Ernakulam before returning and landing at the Sreekrishna College helipad in the afternoon.
