V. Muraleedharan Denies Intervention in BJP Thiruvananthapuram Mayoral Candidate Selection

Former Union Minister V. Muraleedharan has categorically denied any involvement in the selection of the BJP’s mayoral candidate for the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. He dismissed recent media reports suggesting his influence in nominating V.V. Rajesh for the position, stating that such news is entirely false.

In a detailed social media post, Muraleedharan clarified his stance, emphasizing that he did not participate in any discussions related to the mayoral candidate selection at any stage. He further asserted that he neither proposed any names nor expressed opposition to any individual during these deliberations.

Muraleedharan strongly criticized certain media outlets for what he described as a disrespectful attempt to sensationalize the issue by unnecessarily dragging his name into the controversy. He commented, “It is clearly evident that false reports have started flowing from the ‘Indi alliance factory’ on the very first day of BJP assuming power in the capital city.”

He affirmed his understanding that the decision regarding the mayoral candidate was made by the party’s state leadership after carefully considering all relevant aspects. Muraleedharan also offered a gentle reminder to media friends in the capital that the solution to “breaking news” scarcity should not be found in such methods. He concluded his post by stating, “Even if repeated a thousand times, a lie will not become the truth!” and extended his best wishes to V.V. Rajesh and Asha Nath.
