V.D. Satheesan Explains Use of Private Vehicle for Synod Visit, Cites Flat Tyre

Kochi: Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan has provided an explanation regarding his visit to the Synod headquarters in a private vehicle. Responding to journalists’ questions, he stated that since his vehicle’s tire had lost air, he parked it at a friend’s house in Kakkanad and then proceeded in another car. He also clarified that the visit was public and transparent, questioning why he would need a different vehicle to go to the Synod headquarters.
Last Wednesday, Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan met with the Syro-Malabar Church Major Archbishop. He held discussions with Major Archbishop Raphael Thattil and other church leaders. He arrived at the Synod at night. The meeting took place at Mount St. Thomas in Kakkanad, the church headquarters, during the ongoing Synod. The Leader of the Opposition returned after an hour-long discussion and also participated in a dinner. Notably, his visit to Mount St. Thomas in Kakkanad was conducted without the usual police pilot vehicles and his official vehicle.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan strongly reacted to Minister Saji Cherian’s controversial remarks. V.D. Satheesan stated that the minister’s statement was made with the knowledge of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and accused the minister of attempting to divide the people of Kerala. He told reporters in Kochi that Saji Cherian’s statement was hateful and that fanning communalism was a cruelty to future generations.
