Twin Brothers Drown in Palakkad Pond
Palakkad, Kerala: In a tragic incident, twin brothers drowned in the Anikkode temple pond in Chittur, Palakkad. The bodies of 14-year-old Raman and Lakshmanan, sons of Kashi Viswanathan from Anikkode, were recovered from the pond.
The brothers had been missing since yesterday evening. Authorities initially speculated that they might have met with an accident while bathing. A widespread search operation was launched by the local community. Lakshmanan’s body was discovered first this morning, followed by the recovery of Raman’s body during a subsequent search by the fire brigade.
The discovery of their scooter and clothes on the bank of the pond led officials to believe that the children were likely in the water. Despite both brothers reportedly knowing how to swim, the exact circumstances leading to the tragedy remain unclear. Preliminary investigations suggest that one brother might have gotten into trouble, and the other drowned while attempting a rescue.
