Syro-Malabar Church Urges Support for Voter List Revision in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The Syro-Malabar Church has announced its support for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. The Church has urged its faithful to cooperate with the Booth Level Officers (BLO) who visit homes with enumeration forms and ensure that these forms are filled out correctly and completely. This appeal was communicated through a press release issued by the Church.

The Election Commission is currently implementing a nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. As part of this national exercise, Kerala is undergoing the SIR process from November 4 to December 4. The Syro-Malabar Church reiterated its call for everyone to diligently cooperate with the Booth Level Officers (BLO) as they visit households with enumeration forms, ensuring that all details are accurately recorded.

Furthermore, the Church has advised individuals who were included in the voter list after 2002 to prepare and keep ready the necessary documents as instructed by the Election Commission. The officials assigned to the SIR process who visit homes are there to assist citizens. The press release emphasized the importance of maintaining clear communication with BLOs for any clarification of doubts and encouraged individuals not to hesitate in obtaining and keeping their phone numbers for future reference.

Many members of the Syro-Malabar Church reside in various countries as expatriates. Those among them who have not yet acquired the citizenship of their respective residing countries are particularly urged to complete the SIR enumeration forms either online or through their family members or relatives in India. The Syro-Malabar Church added that those living in India should seriously convey this important message to their relatives and friends residing abroad.
