KOCHI: Students chanted ‘Ganageetham’ during the inaugural special journey of the Ernakulam-KSR Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express train. Visuals of students collectively reciting the RSS ‘Ganageetham’ as part of the inaugural ceremony were shared by Southern Railway on their official social media platforms, but were later removed.
Southern Railway had shared the visuals with the caption: ‘Song of joy on the inaugural special Ernakulam – KSR Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express. School students filled the coaches with patriotic songs, celebrating the spirit of the moment.’ This post was withdrawn shortly after.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off the Ernakulam-KSR Bengaluru service, Kerala’s third Vande Bharat Express train. The inaugural ceremony at Ernakulam railway station was attended by Governor Rajendra Arlekar, Union Ministers George Kurian, Suresh Gopi, Ministers P. Rajeev, V. Abdurahiman, MPs Hibi Eden, VK Haris Beeran, Mayor M. Anilkumar, and MLA TJ Vinod. The inaugural special train departed from Ernakulam at 8:50 AM and will reach Bengaluru at 5:50 PM.
