SSLC Exams Scheduled for March 5-30; Education Minister V Sivankutty Addresses Media Amidst PM Shri Row

Thiruvananthapuram: The ongoing dispute between the CPM and CPI regarding the Central Government’s PM Shri scheme is reportedly moving towards a resolution. The CPI has reportedly accepted the compromise proposal put forth by the CPM, leading to the expectation that all four CPI ministers will attend the cabinet meeting scheduled for this evening.

In a significant development, the state government is set to dispatch a letter to the Central Government today itself, urging for the freezing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in connection with the PM Shri project. A copy of this crucial letter will also be handed over to the CPI, signifying a collaborative approach to the issue.

Adding to the day’s announcements, Education Minister V Sivankutty addressed the media in Thiruvananthapuram to declare the schedule for the upcoming SSLC examinations. The SSLC exams for 2026 are slated to commence on March 5 and conclude on March 30.

A total of 4,25,000 students are expected to appear for the examinations across 3,000 centers, which include 7 centers in the Gulf region and 9 in Lakshadweep. The examinations will be held from 9:30 AM onwards.

Further details provided by the Minister indicate that the IT model exams will take place in January, followed by the SSLC model exams from February 16 to 20. The results for the SSLC examinations are anticipated to be declared on May 8, 2026.
