Soumya Sarin Files Defamation Case Over Sexual Allegations Against Husband Dr. P. Sarin

Palakkad: Soumya Sarin, wife of Dr. P. Sarin, has initiated legal proceedings by sending a defamation notice to Raga Ranjini, a transgender woman and Congress sympathizer. Ranjini recently leveled sexual allegations against Dr. P. Sarin, prompting Soumya to announce her intention to pursue the matter legally via a Facebook post. Soumya suggested that the public, particularly Malayalis, would understand the context and motives behind these social media allegations and their subsequent celebration.

In her detailed Facebook post, Soumya Sarin addressed the situation directly, stating that a defamation notice was dispatched through her lawyer to the individual who made the allegations against Dr. P. Sarin on Saturday, September 6, 2025. She emphasized their resolve to confront the accusations legally.

Soumya highlighted what she perceived as an attempt to “fabricate a ‘woman’s case'” against Dr. Sarin, given his position on the opposing side in a “special situation.” She expressed understanding of the alleged eagerness to create such a narrative.

Referring to common challenges thrown at public figures, Soumya quoted, “‘If you dare, go file a defamation case. If a case is filed, all evidence will be released.'” She declared that she and Dr. Sarin accept both these challenges.

Soumya clarified that filing a defamation case does not require immense courage, but rather two fundamental aspects: “the belief in oneself that the alleged actions were not committed” and “our mutual trust as partners.” She affirmed that with both these elements in abundance, they are confidently moving forward with the case.

Addressing the threat of evidence being produced if legal action is taken, Soumya asserted, “Let it come… We will not hide anywhere. We are right here.” She recalled how similar situations involving chat logs and voice clips against a young leader were dismissed as “fake” in the “AI era,” where evidence can be easily manufactured.

However, Soumya drew a distinction, stating that they would not simply label everything as fake. Instead, they would rigorously prove the falsity of any fabricated evidence, without attempting to “insult or influence the victim.” She expressed faith in the legal system’s ability to discern the truth, despite the potential for time consumption.

Soumya concluded her post by asserting the strong resolve of both herself and Dr. Sarin, stating that while they may not have a large fan base or numerous likes and shares, they possess an unwavering determination. She also mentioned having a daughter, implying a personal stake in defending their integrity. She reiterated her challenge: “Are these challenges only for us poor people?”
