It is believed that the snakebite occurred on Tuesday night. Anamika woke up experiencing severe pain in her leg and informed her family that her stomach was hurting. Her family promptly took her to Chavakkad Government Taluk Hospital. However, no abnormalities were detected during the examination. She was provided with medication for stomach pain and an ointment for her leg. After a brief period of observation at the hospital, they returned home.

By Wednesday morning, Anamika’s leg had swollen, and her vision became blurred. As her discomfort increased, her family rushed her to the Government Medical College Hospital. A blood test confirmed the presence of snake venom in her bloodstream. Despite being placed on a ventilator and receiving intensive treatment, her life could not be saved. Anamika passed away on Thursday night. She is survived by a sister and a brother.

Locals had previously killed a viper found near the family’s rented house, which is situated in a marshy area. The body has since been cremated.
