SIT to Question MP Adoor Prakash in Sabarimala Gold Theft Case

Thiruvananthapuram: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is preparing to question UDF Convener and MP Adoor Prakash in connection with the Sabarimala gold theft case. The interrogation is reportedly aimed at understanding his association with Unnikrishnan Potti, the sponsor who has been arrested in the case. This move comes after the SIT prepared a list of individuals connected to Potti.
It has been reported that Adoor Prakash was present when Unnikrishnan Potti met Congress leader Sonia Gandhi in Delhi.
In recent days, the SIT had recorded statements from former Devaswom Minister Kadamkampally Surendran and former Devaswom Board President P.S. Prasanth. Following these interrogations, the investigation has now extended to Adoor Prakash.
Pictures of Adoor Prakash with Unnikrishnan Potti had previously been utilized as a political tool by the CPI(M) in the political arena.
Information suggests that Unnikrishnan Potti visited Sonia Gandhi’s residence in Delhi twice. On one occasion, Adoor Prakash accompanied him, and on another, MP Anto Antony was present. Adoor Prakash has explained that Potti, being a voter in his constituency, took him along when he secured an appointment with Sonia Gandhi. However, the investigating team is taking seriously how Unnikrishnan Potti managed to secure an appointment with Sonia Gandhi, which is usually difficult to obtain, so quickly.
Adoor Prakash has told the media that his acquaintance with Unnikrishnan Potti is solely through social service activities and that their relationship is based on Potti being a resident of his constituency.
