SI Extorts Rs 4 Lakh from CPO by Threatening to Expose Spa Visit in Kochi

Kochi: A complaint has been lodged alleging that a Sub-Inspector (SI) and his accomplices extorted Rs 4 lakh from a Civil Police Officer (CPO) by threatening to inform his family about his visit to a spa. The complaint is specifically against SI K. Biju of the Palarivattom station.

According to the complaint, the SI intervened in the matter, and subsequently, the spa staff along with the SI collectively threatened the CPO and extorted the money. The CPO’s complaint states that approximately four lakh rupees were taken. The Palarivattom police have registered a case, naming station SI Biju and the spa staff as accused. Police officials have indicated that departmental action against the SI and the arrest of the culprits are expected to follow swiftly.
