Rapper Vedan Returns to Stage Amidst Allegations, Vows to Live Among People

Rapper Vedan has publicly stated that he has “not gone anywhere” and intends to “live and die among the people.” The artist made this declaration during the ‘Kariyaattam’ festival held in Konni, Pathanamthitta, marking his return to the rap stage after a prolonged absence.
Vedan’s appearance and comments come amidst a scheduled police questioning today in connection with a sexual assault case. Previously, police had indicated that the rapper was absconding following the initial accusations.
“Many people think that Vedan has gone somewhere. A true artist never leaves. I have come to live and die among these people,” Vedan asserted, addressing the crowd at the Onam-related festival.
The rapper was previously granted bail in a case registered by Thrikkakara police, based on a woman’s complaint of sexual assault under the pretext of marriage. However, a similar complaint has since emerged against him, leading to his withdrawal from public performances. The court had previously directed Vedan to appear for questioning and cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.
This event marks a significant public appearance for Vedan since the allegations surfaced, signaling his intent to continue his artistic career despite the legal challenges. The community in Pathanamthitta witnessed his return as he performed at the local festival, reiterating his commitment to his audience.
