Rajeev Chandrasekhar Files High Court Plea Seeking CBI Probe into Sabarimala Gold Theft

Kochi: BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar has filed a petition in the High Court demanding a CBI investigation into the Sabarimala gold theft case. The plea argues that the incident has inter-state connections and therefore requires a central investigation. Due to technical errors in the petition that need to be rectified, it is expected to be considered next week. The court also mentioned that an order regarding the audit request in the petition had been issued previously.
Meanwhile, former Devaswom Board member A. Padmakumar’s bail plea implicates other former board members in the Sabarimala gold theft case. He questioned how he alone could be an accused in the case, arguing that if the board made an error, everyone has shared responsibility. Padmakumar’s bail plea states that all actions were carried out with the knowledge of other Devaswom Board members.
Officials initially wrote ‘brass plates’ but later corrected it to ‘copper plates’. Padmakumar argued in his bail application that if a correction was made, members could have pointed it out later. The Kollam Vigilance Court is likely to consider the petition on Tuesday.
