Police Trainee Found Hanged at Peroorkada SAP Camp in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: A police trainee was found dead by hanging at the Peroorkada SAP Camp. The deceased has been identified as Anand, a native of Keezhpalur, Aryanad. Anand, who was a B Company Platoon Leader, had attempted suicide by slitting his wrist the previous day. He was then taken to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for treatment. Later, he was brought back to the camp and was recuperating. The reason behind his suicide is not yet clear.

It is suspected that Anand ended his life due to mental stress caused by work pressure. His appointment as a platoon leader as part of the training is believed to be the reason for this pressure. After his initial suicide attempt, senior officials had spoken with him. The body is currently kept at Peroorkada Hospital.
