Police Officer Dies in Car Accident During Drug Inspection in Kasaragod

Kasaragod: A police officer died in a tragic car accident while on duty at Chengala Fourth Mile in Kasaragod. The deceased has been identified as Sajeesh, a Senior Civil Police Officer from the Bekal DySP’s District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) squad. The fatal incident occurred early this morning while the officers were proceeding for a drug inspection.

The accident unfolded when the private car carrying the police team, acting on information related to drug activities, was struck by a tipper lorry. Civil Police Officer Subhash, who was accompanying Sajeesh in the vehicle, sustained injuries in the collision. The incident was reported around 2:45 AM today.

The body of the deceased officer has been transferred to the hospital where it is currently being held. Authorities have stated that the body will be released to the family following the completion of a post-mortem examination. An investigation into the accident is underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
