Pandalam NSS College Arts Club Inaugurated by Security Guard and Sweeper, Receives Social Media Acclaim

PATHANAMTHITTA: In a heartwarming move, the Pandalam NSS College Union officials approached Principal Dr. M.G. Sanal Kumar regarding the inauguration of their Arts Club. The Principal was initially taken aback upon hearing the names of the proposed inaugurators, as they were not the usual film stars, celebrities, or renowned literary figures often invited for such events.
Instead, the students had chosen Ramesh Chettan, the college’s security guard, and Sindhu Chechi, the sweeper. These individuals are a familiar and beloved presence on campus, always greeting students with a smile, affectionately inquiring about their well-being, and diligently ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the college premises.
Both Ramesh and Sindhu are known to treat the college students as their own children, often forgetting their daily workload amidst the affectionate interactions and casual conversations with the students. This invitation to inaugurate the Arts Club was seen as a significant recognition of their invaluable contributions and compassionate demeanor.
With the Principal’s joyful approval, Ramesh Chettan and Sindhu Chechi jointly lit the traditional lamp, officially inaugurating the Union and Arts Club. As these “local” inaugurators, devoid of any celebrity airs, stepped onto the stage, the entire student body rose in a resounding ovation, warmly welcoming them.
Photographs and news clippings of this unique inauguration quickly went viral across social media platforms, drawing widespread praise. Numerous individuals have since extended their congratulations and admiration for the students’ thoughtful and inclusive gesture.
