As part of ‘Operation Sindhu,’ a total of 88 individuals were repatriated to India from the conflict zones of Iran and Israel between June 18 and June 26. Out of these, 67 Keralites returned to Kerala from Delhi with the assistance of the Kerala government.
The first Keralite to arrive in Delhi from Iran on a special flight was on June 21. In total, 88 Keralites were repatriated through these efforts, with 21 arriving from Iran and 67 from Israel. Among them, 17 from Iran and 50 from Israel, totaling 67 individuals, were brought to Kerala with the state government’s support. The remaining 21 individuals returned to their hometowns from Delhi on their own.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had instructed the Resident Commissioner of Kerala House in Delhi to arrange necessary facilities for Keralites returning as part of Operation Sindhu. Following this, a special team was formed under the leadership of Additional Resident Commissioner Chetan Kumar Meena.
The task force undertook measures to transport those who arrived at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and Palam Airport to the nearest airport in their hometown. The team received the returnees from the conflict zones by arranging flight tickets to Kerala, food, and transportation facilities.
