Muslim League President Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal: Welfare Party Understanding Not an Alliance, League Stands Firm with Secularism

Muslim League State President Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal clarified that while there was an understanding with the Welfare Party in some areas, it was not an alliance and concluded after the local body elections. Thangal emphasized that the League consistently upholds secularism and will not compromise this principle for electoral gains. He further added that the party is not concerned by communal remarks.
Thangal highlighted that Kerala society holds a collective mindset against communalism and sectarianism. The vast majority of the population believes in tolerance, coexistence, and communal harmony, which he asserted is the core culture of the Muslim League, a stance the party will maintain firmly. He dismissed any attempts to target the League, stating that such endeavors would not succeed, and responding to every criticism and accusation is not the party’s primary objective.
Regarding future political strategies, Thangal affirmed that the League cannot be sidelined. He also mentioned that serious discussions concerning the upcoming assembly elections, including matters of seat allocation and exchange, have not yet commenced but will be addressed later.
