MLA Linto Joseph Withdraws Complaint After Abuser Apologizes, Embraces Youth

Kozhikode: The incident involving personal abuse directed at MLA Linto Joseph via social media has been settled. MLA Linto Joseph announced that he is withdrawing the complaint after Aslam Muhammed, a Muslim League sympathizer who made the abusive remarks, offered an apology. Aslam was taken into custody by the Thiruvambady police on Monday morning. Following this, the police summoned Linto Joseph to the station, where he arrived, and Aslam offered his apology.
Linto Joseph responded, stating that Aslam understood his mistake. Aslam showed the good grace to correct his error. He emphasized that if a mistake occurs, it should be rectified, and no one is immune to making mistakes. Linto Joseph further stated that with this, the matter is concluded. Linto and Aslam parted ways after resolving the issue and having tea together.
The abusive remarks against Thiruvambady MLA Linto Joseph by Muslim League sympathizer Aslam Muhammed were made a few days ago. The comments were particularly demeaning, targeting Linto Joseph’s physical limitations. The abuse was made through a comment posted on Facebook, which drew widespread criticism. Ministers and political leaders had also responded to the incident. Following this, the DYFI Thiruvambady Block Committee lodged a complaint with the police.
Linto Joseph himself had previously responded to the incident, stating that his focus was on what he could do for the country and that he did not take abusive comments seriously.
