Missing Muslim League Candidate in Kannur Returns with BJP Activist

Chokli, Kannur: T.P. Aruva, the UDF candidate for the Muslim League in the ninth ward of Chokli Grama Panchayat, who had gone missing from Kannur, has returned. Aruva and a young man accompanying her appeared directly at the police station. Both were subsequently produced before the court.

Aruva’s mother had filed a police complaint stating that her daughter was missing after leaving home on Saturday morning. The mother had alleged that her daughter had gone with a local BJP activist. Based on this information, Chokli police registered a case and initiated an investigation.

The disappearance of the candidate just days before the election had caused significant concern among UDF workers. The UDF leadership was in a state of uncertainty, having to campaign without their candidate. Aruva did not participate in the final election campaign. While the local UDF leadership had accused the CPI(M) of being behind the candidate’s disappearance, the CPI(M) had completely denied these allegations.
