The tragic landslide incident unfolded around 10:30 PM on Saturday in the Koombanpara Laksham Veedu Colony area of Adimali, situated along the Dhanushkodi National Highway. The catastrophe occurred when the upper section of a cutting, exceeding 50 feet in height, which had been created for the national highway construction project, gave way. The resulting cascade of soil and concrete slabs engulfed and severely damaged two residential homes. In this devastating event, Biju, aged 41, perished after his house was destroyed and he became trapped beneath the concrete debris. His wife, Sandhya, who sustained critical injuries, has been transferred to Rajagiri Hospital for urgent and specialized medical attention.
