THRISSUR: Many people were injured when a KSRTC bus and a private bus collided at Uduvadi in Chelakkara, Thrissur. The accident involved a KSRTC bus operating on the Thrissur-Kottayam route and a private bus named Manamel, running on the Shornur-Chelakkara route. The collision occurred around 8 AM on Wednesday morning.
Both drivers sustained serious injuries as the front parts of the buses collided. The driver of the KSRTC bus had to be extricated by cutting open the cabin. Numerous passengers also sustained injuries in the accident. The injured were immediately admitted to Chelakkara Government Taluk Hospital and the Medical College.
Preliminary reports indicate that most of the injuries are not serious. Police arrived at the scene and initiated further proceedings.
